Provided is a non-aqueous solvent-dispersed silica-coated gold nanorod that is simple, has a high yield, is highly productive, and has few silica agglomerates as impurities. A surface of a gold nanorod adsorbed with CTAB (Cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide) is coated with a polymer mainly composed of polyacrylic acid, and then coated with silica, and the surface is further coated with at least one long chain. A silica-coated gold nanorod whose surface is modified with a hydrolyzable silicon compound having an alkyl group. [Selection] Figure 3 |
