Imaging apparatus and solid-state imaging device driving method |
abstract |
An image pickup apparatus and a solid-state image sensor driving method capable of erasing charges in a charge storage portion while suppressing noise are provided. An image pickup apparatus having a large number of pixel units including a photoelectric conversion unit, the pixel unit being a floating gate provided above a semiconductor substrate for accumulating charges generated in the photoelectric conversion unit. For each group consisting of a plurality of pixel units 100, the charge generated in the photoelectric conversion unit 3 of the pixel unit 100 in the group is transferred to the write drain WD in the pixel unit 100. Alternatively, a control unit 40 is provided which controls the start timing of the exposure period of each group by independently performing the first charge discharging drive for discharging to the reading drain RD.
