titleOfInvention Liquid crystal display
abstract The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device that can easily prevent a display defect after display starts with low power consumption. In a liquid crystal display panel, a counter electrode is provided on a substrate facing a substrate on which a pixel electrode and a common electrode for driving liquid crystal are formed, out of a pair of substrates sandwiching a liquid crystal layer. Then, a voltage is applied to the counter electrode 52 by the display driving unit 102. At this time, application of a voltage to the counter electrode 53 is started with the start of display, and when a predetermined voltage application time has elapsed from the start of display, application of the voltage to the counter electrode 53 is stopped and the counter electrode is stopped. The display driving unit 102 is controlled by the control unit 101 so as to bring the 53 into a floating state. [Selection] Figure 2
