abstract | The present invention relates to a beam filter 10 that can be used in particular in spectral CT applications that produce the desired intensity characteristics of a radiation beam without changing its spectral composition. In a preferred embodiment, the beam filter 10 has a stack of absorbing sheets that are separated by a wedge-shaped space 112 and focused to the radiation source 1. Furthermore, the absorption sheet has a width that varies in the direction of the radiation. Different small parts of the area of the radiation source 1 are therefore masked by the beam filter 10 at different points A, B on the detection area 2. The absorbent sheet is preferably composed of a material that has a high absorption for the radiation to be filtered. |
