Composites that limit current |
abstract |
An object of the present invention is to improve a recovery function by minimizing a failure. An elongate composite material for limiting current comprising at least one oxide superconducting member and at least one second conductive member substantially surrounding the at least one oxide superconducting member; The composite exhibits an electric field in the range of about 0.05 to 0.5 V / cm during the event limiting the fault current, and the event limiting the fault current causes the composite to generate about 3 to 10 times the operating current. Less than the critical current of the oxide superconductor and the critical current of the oxide superconductor at a selected operating temperature lower than the critical temperature of the at least one oxide superconductor member. A composite material selected to be at least one-half. [Selection] Figure 1 |
