The present invention provides an aqueous paint that is excellent in water resistance and can form a coating film having both flavor properties, adhesion, and processability when used as a paint for cans, particularly as an inner surface paint for can bodies. An aqueous paint comprising a polymer obtained by copolymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated group-containing monomer (C) in the presence of a modified epoxy resin (A) and a basic compound (B). Preferably, the modified epoxy resin (A) is a basic compound comprising a polymer (D) obtained by copolymerizing a carboxyl group-containing monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated group-containing monomer (C), and an epoxy resin (E). It is a water-based paint made to react in the presence of (B). [Selection figure] None |
