To realize a drum type washing machine capable of boosting pressure, improving power factor, and improving harmonic current with a simple configuration. A phase detection circuit 39 for simply detecting a voltage phase of an AC power supply 31 with a unidirectional photocoupler 41 is provided, and the photocoupler 41 of the phase detection circuit 39 is changed from off to on at the starting point of a short circuit signal Ps. The point is changed from on to off and generated as a point after a predetermined time Td, and the pulse width Tw of the short circuit signal Ps is changed so that the DC voltage Vd of the inverter becomes a preset target voltage Vt. As the current waveform approaches a sine wave, the current waveform is symmetric in both positive and negative phases, and power harmonics can be improved. [Selection] Figure 3 |
