An object of the present invention is to provide a rolling bearing having a long service life in addition to good productivity and being less prone to white tissue peeling. In addition to the component composition of steel used for the rolling element 3, the amount of nitride containing both silicon and manganese on the surface of the rolling element 3 and the amount of nitrogen are defined. Further, the amount of nitrogen at a predetermined depth position from the surface of the rolling element 3, the amount of retained austenite, and the compressive residual stress were defined. For these reasons, the rolling bearing of the present invention has a long life in addition to good productivity and hardly causing white tissue peeling. [Selection] Figure 1 |
