abstract Provided are a lead frame and a manufacturing method thereof that can prevent a problem that solder flows to the side surface of a die pad and the back surface of the die pad. A lead frame includes a metal die pad and a lead portion provided around the die pad. The die pad 11 includes a mounting area 15 where the semiconductor element 21 is mounted and a solder outflow prevention area 16 for preventing solder outflow surrounding the mounting area 15 in a band shape. Since the solder outflow prevention region 16 is roughened with respect to the mounting region 15, the flow of the solder portion 22 can be stopped by the solder outflow prevention region 16.
