Storage element and signal processing circuit |
abstract |
A memory element capable of suppressing power consumption and a signal processing circuit using the memory element are provided. In a memory element using a pair of inverters (including a clocked inverter), a capacitor element for holding data and a switching element for controlling charge accumulation and discharge in the capacitor element are provided. For example, one electrode of the capacitor element is connected to a first node that is an input or output of one of the pair of inverters, and the other electrode is connected to one electrode of the switching element. The other electrode of the switching element is connected to a second node which is an output or input of the inverter. Here, the potential of the first node and the potential of the second node are in opposite phases. With such connection, the absolute value of the potential difference between the first node and the second node during data recovery can be sufficiently increased, and errors during data recovery can be reduced.
