| abstract | The present invention relates to a capsule (1000) comprising a body (1004) in the form of a cup and a membrane lid (1006), both of which define a chamber (1008) for containing a substance for the preparation of a beverage. The body (1004) is substantially frustoconical outer sidewall (1010), integral with the outer sidewall (1010), and the outer sidewall (1010) at the rear end (1020) of the body (1004).
