abstract | The present invention relates to a leave-on type non-solid skin conditioning composition containing 12-[(12-hydroxyoctadecanoyl) oxy] octadecanoic acid. 12-[(12-hydroxyoctadecanoyl) oxy] octadecanoic acid can be easily incorporated in combination with a lipophilic carrier that is liquid at room temperature. The composition can provide increased energy production by human fibroblasts. Preferred compositions further contain 12-hydroxystearic acid, which can provide a wide range of benefits to the skin. |
