abstract |
A method for stably storing a biological sample at room temperature is provided. A biological sample is immersed, mixed and stored in a composition comprising 1 to up to 100% by weight of at least one polyol and 0 to 99% by weight of at least one additive. A container with a lid including a soaking aid 3 and a mixing device 4 such as the container 1 is used for sample preparation and storage. Biological tissue samples prepared by this means can be subjected to histological analysis, nucleic acid analysis, and protein analysis even after being stored at room temperature or under mild conditions such as refrigeration.
