A step of bringing a sodium salt alkaline aqueous solution into contact with a gas containing carbon dioxide in a gas-liquid contact, the alkaline aqueous solution comprising polyacrylic acid having an average molecular weight of 10,000 to 1,000,000 and a salt thereof, and acrylic acid having an average molecular weight of 10,000 to 1,000,000. And 0.01 to 0.025 mass% of at least one polymer compound selected from the group consisting of a polymer of dicarboxylic acid and a salt thereof. [Selection] Figure 2
