abstract A conjugated Z-alkene inyl acetate, for example, Z-13-hexadecene-11-inyl acetate, which is a sex pheromone component of pine processionary moss, and its intermediate are produced in high yield under mild conditions. A method for manufacturing the same is provided. A step of reacting an ω-halo-2-alkynal (1) and an alkylidene triphenylphosphorane (3) using a Wittig reaction to obtain a conjugated Z-alkeneinyl halide (4) is obtained. A method for producing conjugated Z-alkene inyl acetate (5) comprising at least a step of acetoxylating conjugated Z-alkene inyl halide (4) to form conjugated Z-alkene inyl acetate (5) is provided.
