abstract | Techniques are disclosed for improving the hydrogenation reaction of diene-based polymers present in an aqueous suspension by in situ synthesis of a catalyst in the presence of a specific aliphatic alcohol. The method makes it possible to selectively hydrogenate carbon-carbon double bonds in diene-based polymers with a high hydrogenation rate and a short reaction time. The improved method eliminates the need for complex catalyst synthesis operations previously required. |
