An object of the present invention is to provide a coating agent for glass that coats the outer surface of a glass product, imparts sufficient lubricity to the outer surface of the glass product, and is excellent in scratch resistance and water resistance. The glass coating agent of the present invention comprises a polyurethane resin (A), a carbodiimide resin (B), and a waxy resin (C) as essential components. When used as a coating agent, the glass coating agent of the present invention provides a coating layer that is excellent in scratch resistance, such as a scratch-preventing function, and also in water resistance by imparting sufficient lubricity to the outer surface of the glass product.
