abstract | A rolling apparatus and hot rolling method using directional lubrication is provided herein. A rolling mill having a plurality of roll stacks (A, B, C) includes a cooling fluid pump (10) and a lubricant pump fluidly coupled to a cooling nozzle (24) and a lubrication nozzle (25) through a piping system. (20). The piping system includes one or more lubrication nozzles (25) with pure lubricant mixed with a cooling fluid so that the lubricant pump (20) forms a lubricating fluid as a dilute lubricant-type emulsion for discharge. ) Through the selected roll stack (A, B, C), while one or more cooling nozzles (24) may be configured to release cooling fluid without the use of additional lubricant. The lubrication nozzle (25) may be directed to directed release of the lubrication emulsion in the interstitial roll. It is also provided to modify the rolling mill header (24) to provide directional lubrication according to the present invention. |
