abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant having increased resistance to one or more herbicides derived from, for example, an imidazolinone group as compared to a wild type sorghum plant. In the sorghum acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) protein, a sorghum plant comprising a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having a substitution of alanine to threonine at position 93 of the large subunit in the genome. A sorghum plant with improved resistance to one or more herbicides as compared to a wild-type sorghum plant. The sorghum plant may comprise 1, 2, 3 or more copies of a polynucleotide encoding a sorghum AHAS mutant large subunit or sorghum AHAS polypeptide in its genome. [Selection] Figure 1A
