Method for producing botulinum toxin |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing botulinum toxin. (A) A step of acidifying a botulinum toxin-producing strain culture solution with an acid to precipitate the botulinum toxin; (b) adding a buffer solution to the precipitated botulinum toxin And (c) treating the extracted botulinum toxin with an acid to acid-precipitate the botulinum toxin, and then subjecting the precipitate to a buffer solution. And (d) a step of purifying the botulinum toxin using anion exchange chromatography. Preferably, the purified botulinum toxin is a botulinum toxin type A protein having a purity of 98% or more.
