titleOfInvention Developing device and image forming apparatus
abstract An image forming apparatus capable of suppressing generation of a non-moving layer of a developer in a developing device is provided. A developing sleeve 5a that develops an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive member by a developer carried on its rotating surface is opposed to the developing sleeve 5a with a regulating gap G1 therebetween. A regulating blade 12 that regulates the developer layer thickness, and a stay regulating member 13 that has a facing surface that faces the developing sleeve 5a in the vicinity of the regulating blade 12 and upstream of the regulating blade 12 in the sleeve rotation direction. In the developing device, the opposed surface is inclined from the surface direction (arrow α) perpendicular to the surface of the regulating blade 12, and a region from the upstream side to the downstream side in the sleeve rotation direction of the opposed surface is gradually formed in the developing sleeve 5a. The difference between the retention gap G2 and the regulation gap G1 between the opposed slope 13a and the developing sleeve 5a is defined as a regulation gap. It was one of 1.75 times or less.
