【Task】 When a halogen atom is selected as the leaving group of the raw material for the coupling reaction, harmful halogen waste is produced as a by-product after the reaction, so that there is a problem that waste liquid treatment is complicated and the environmental load is high. Carbon-hydrogen activated cross-coupling reactions that do not require a halogen atom as a leaving group do not produce halogen waste as a by-product, but there are many restrictions on the reaction substrate, and the molecular construction method is still limited. There was a problem. [Solution] Provided is a method for producing an aromatic compound, characterized in that an aromatic nitro compound and a boronic acid compound are subjected to a cross-coupling reaction in the presence of a metal catalyst.
