abstract | Provided is a honeycomb structure that is expected to improve purification performance while suppressing an increase in pressure loss. SOLUTION: A porous partition wall 1 disposed so as to partition a plurality of cells 2 serving as a fluid flow path extending from a first end surface to a second end surface, and disposed so as to surround the partition wall 1. A columnar honeycomb structure portion having an outer peripheral wall, the partition wall 1 protrudes so as to extend into the cell 2, and has a protruding portion 21 continuously provided in the extending direction of the cell 2. 10% or more of the cells 2 are the ones in which the protrusion 21 protrudes into the cell 2, and the tip curvature radius R of the top of the protrusion 21 is 0.01 to 0.1 mm. The side surface of the protruding portion 21 is inclined with respect to the surface of the partition wall 1 at an inclination angle of 40 to 70 °, and the hydraulic diameter A of the cell 2 and the height H of the protruding portion 21 are 0.04.
