The present invention relates to (piperidin-3-yl) (naphthalen-2-yl) methanone derivatives and related compounds as inhibitors of one or more histone demethylases (such as KDM2b). The present invention also provides pharmaceutically acceptable compositions comprising a compound of the present invention and discloses methods of using said compositions in the treatment of cancer (such as lung cancer, leukemia, or lymphoma). The present invention is, for example, a method of treating a disease associated with KDM2b activity, comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
