A novel fluoride ion conductive material that can be used in, for example, a fluoride shuttle secondary battery is provided. A fluoride ion conductive material containing lanthanum fluoride and strontium fluoride is provided. The fluoride ion conducting material of the present disclosure has, for example, a composition represented by the formula La 1-x Sr x F 3-x . However, x in the formula satisfies 0.05 ≦ x ≦ 0.4. The fluoride ion conductive material of the present disclosure can be used, for example, as an electrolyte for a fluoride shuttle secondary battery using fluoride ions as a shuttlecock.
