[PROBLEMS] To prevent temperature unevenness in secondary batteries 12a and 12b. A cooling unit includes a condenser, a cooler that absorbs heat from secondary batteries by evaporating a liquid-phase refrigerant from the condenser, and a condenser from the condenser to the cooler. A liquid storage unit 22 that is provided in the middle of the forward flow passage 18a through which the phase refrigerant flows, and that adjusts the flow rate of the liquid phase refrigerant that flows from the liquid storage unit 22 to the cooler 14 through the forward flow passage 18a. Thus, a liquid storage valve 24 is provided as an adjustment unit that adjusts the amount of liquid phase refrigerant stored in the cooler 14. The liquid storage valve 24 is opened to increase the liquid-phase refrigerant in the cooler 14, and the area of the secondary battery 12 a, 12 b that contacts the gas portion is reduced.
