PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion member having less decrease in emission intensity with time when irradiated with light of an LED or LD, and a light emitting device using the same. A wavelength conversion member in which an inorganic phosphor is dispersed in a glass matrix, wherein the glass matrix is in mol%, SiO 2 30 to 85%, B 2 O 3 4.3 to 20%, and the like. al 2 O 3 0~25%, Li 2 O 0~3%, Na 2 O 0~3%, K 2 O 0~3%, Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O 0~3%, MgO 0~35% , CaO 0-35%, SrO 0-35%, BaO 0-35%, MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO 0.1-45%, and ZnO 0-5%. At least one selected from the group consisting of phosphors, oxynitride phosphors, chloride phosphors, acidified phosphors, halide phosphors, aluminate phosphors and halophosphate phosphors.
