titleOfInvention | Compositions Containing Multiple Terminal Functionalized Polymers |
abstract | Vulcanized products with desired properties such as reduced hysteresis and improved wear resistance can be obtained from compositions containing granular fillers (s) and at least two terminal functionalized polymers. One type of polymer has a heterocyclic moiety at the end, while another type has an aryl group with at least two hydroxyl substituents at one of its ends. The functionalized polymer is an aryl group having a substituent capable of reacting the terminal active polymer with a heterocyclic nitrile, at least two directly bonded OG p substituents (where GP is a protecting group in the formula) and the active terminal. It is provided by reacting with a compound containing, respectively. The protecting group can be removed so as to provide a terminal moiety containing an aryl group having at least two directly attached hydroxyl groups. |
