abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for (1) introducing hydroxy group(s) into a substituent-bearing aromatic compound, (2) condensing two or more phenolic hydroxy-containing aromatic compounds via a carbon-carbon bond or ether linkage, and (3) converting a substituent-bearing cyclic olefin into the corresponding aromatic compound, in high efficiency using living cells in which CYP153 is synthesized. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing an aromatic compound is provided with a process of making a protein belonging to CYP153 of cytochrome P450 or a fused protein containing the same function as a monooxygenase, and (1) introducing hydroxy group(s) into a substituent-bearing aromatic compound by making the monooxygenase act thereon, and a step of (2) condensing two or more phenolic hydroxy-containing aromatic compounds via a carbon-carbon bond or ether linkage or a step of (3) converting a substituent-bearing cyclic olefin into the corresponding aromatic compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
