abstract The present invention comprises one or more through-air drying cylinders 3, 5 and a permeable cloth 9 extending in a loop and wrapped around a portion of the outer circumference of each through-air drying cylinder with respect to the drying portion. The loop of the cloth 9 is divided into a web supporting portion 10 and a conditioning portion 11. The web carrier extends from the receiving point 12 to the transfer point 15 where the fiber web is transferred to further components. The conditioning section extends from the transfer point 15 to the receiving point 12. The conditioning unit has a cleaning unit 19 including a shower 20 for cleaning the residue from the cloth. The dehydration section 21 is configured to act on the cloth 9 after the cleaning section and comprises one or more suction dehydration devices 22. An applicator unit 23 is configured in the conditioning unit 11 after the dehydration unit. The applicator unit includes an applicator 24 for applying a release agent to the cloth 9. The dehydration section 21 of the cloth loop comprises a substantially vertical run section VR of the cloth having a deviation of 30 ° or less from the vertical plane, and the suction dehydrator 22 is the cloth along the vertical run section of the cloth 9.
