titleOfInvention Ammonia removal device and method therefor
abstract PURPOSE: To remove ammonia from contaminated water in the internal system of power generation facilities without any use of an inorganic material removal bed by mixing flows of steam containing ammonia available from a plurality of steam separators and returning the flows to a water circulation system after condensation. n CONSTITUTION: Contaminated water having an ammonia concentration less than approximately 500ppm is fed from a gaseous fuel cooler to a steam separator 6 via an inflow passage 4 under pressure higher than atmospheric pressure and at a high temperature. A flow of this contaminated water comes in contact with steam and a part of ammonia is thereby separated. Separated water is fed to another steam separator 16 and water with ammonia separated is fed to the storage tank of power generation facilities via a pipe 22. And this water is returned to a water circulation system 2 after cleaned. A contamination factor is thereby removed, covering about 85% or more of ammonia and about 99% or more of carbon dioxide. And steam fed from the separator 16 to the separator 6 via a pipe 2 is mixed with steam therein, further fed to a condenser 24 for condensation and again returned to the separator 6. Also, a mixture as a remnant is discharged via a pipe 30. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
