titleOfInvention Metallic magnetic powder and usage thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain metallic magnetic powder, excellent in oxidation resistance and suitable for magnetic recording, and a magnetic recording medium using said magnetic powder by forming a magnetic layer composed of metallic magnetic powder containing an acetylacetonato complex compound onto a nonmagnetic supporter. n CONSTITUTION: Base-body component particle powder is dispersed into a solution in which an acetylacetonato complex compound is dissolved into the organic solvent of aromatic hydrocarbons, water or an aqueous medium liquid, thus preparing suspension. When the acetylacetonato complex compound is added and suspension is agitated and treated preferably for 0.5W5hr while ventilating an inert gas and being heated at a temperature, where the acetylacetonato complex compound is not decomposed, as required, the acetylacetonato complex compound can be carried onto the particle surfaces of the base-body component particle powder. A vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer group resin and a dispersant, a lubricant, an abrasive, an antistatic agent, etc., are added to the metallic magnetic powder, thus preparing magnetic paints. The magnetic paints are applied onto a non-magnetic supporter such as a polyethylene terephthalate film in specified thickness, and orientated and treated and dried to form a magnetic layer, and a magnetic recording medium is acquired through calender treatment and slitting working. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
