PURPOSE: To improve grain size homogeneity, product quality and yield, by washing crude mesocarbon microbeads obtd. by performing heat treatment of a heavy oil produced from coal so as to purify the same, drying the purified microbeads, dispersing the microbeads with a particular force and classifying the dispersion. n CONSTITUTION: Crude mesocarbon microbeads obtd. by performing heat treatment of a heavy oil produced from coal is separated by, e.g., centrifugation, washed so as to purify the same, dried in an atmosphere having an oxygen concn. controlled so as to be below a predetermined value, mechanically dispersed with a mild force such that the mesocarbon microbeads are not broken and classified. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
