abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an optical recording medium which can be used commonly for various semiconductor laser devices and is little in variation of characteristics in service conditions by establishing a recording layer containing a specific compound on a base material. n CONSTITUTION: This optical recording medium has a recording layer containing a compound expressed by the formula (I) on a base material. In the formula, L represents an arylene radical or an alkylene radical which may have a radical or a substituent expressed by -O-L 1 -O-, -L 1 - represents a radical having arylene radical or alkylene radical which may have a substituent, and Z 1 and Z 2 respectively represent a residue of phthalocyanine which may have a condensed ring. Since this optical recording medium can be used in a long wavelength range, being high in reflectance of the recording layer and further, is wide in a band width of a light absorption band, the optical recording medium can be used commonly for light sources of different wavelength ranges, and has excellent features in which characteristics are not varied according to a semiconductor laser device to be used and its service conditions, or the like. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
