abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare a highly pure phthalocyanine crystal industrially favorably by treating a phthalocyanine with a soln. contg. at least trifluoroacetic acid. n CONSTITUTION: A highly pure phthalocyanine crystal is obtd. by dissolving a phthalocyanine, e.g. nonmetallophthalocyanine, magnesium phthalocyanine, and phthalocyanine derivs., in a solvent which contains trifluoroacetic acid as the essential component and if necessary contains benzene, chloroform, trichloroacetic acid, etc., and by recrystallizing said phthalocyanine from the soln. Usable methods for the recrystallization include precipitation utilizing a change in solubility with temp. and precipitation by mixing with a good solvent.
