Production of conchiolin protein hydrolysate |
abstract |
PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a conchiolin protein hydrolysate by reacting conchiolin protein with an alkaliprotease obtained by culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Bacillus in an alkaline medium. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to the genus Bacillus such as B21-2 strain is cultured in an alkaline culture medium and an enzyme is accumulated in culture medium and then an alkaline protease which is a proteinase is collected. Conchiolin protein is dispersed into an aqueous solution of alkali adjusted to pH9-14 and then the above-mentioned alkali protease is added and slowly stirred at 1070 deg.C for 1-20hr. Then pH is adjusted to nearly 7 with hydrochloric acid and insoluble content is filtered to provide the aqueous solution of conchiolin protein hydrolysate. As necessary, the enzyme may be inactivated by heating the aqueous solution. |
