abstract PURPOSE: To improve the appearance after final coating by softening an Mg- contg. Al for the automobile, then removing the oxide film on the surface as the surface treatment before press work and then applying a rust preventive oil. n CONSTITUTION: When an Al member contg. Mg for the automobile is surface- treated before press work, the member is softened, the oxide film and remaining rolling oil on the surface are removed with an aq. inorg. acid soln., and then a rust preventive oil having 3-20cSt is applied on the surface at 100-1500mg/m 2 . Consequently, even when simultaneous Al-Fe treatment is applied, uneven degreasing is prevented even if the Al member is allowed to stand for a long time before press work, an excellent appearance is obtained after final coating, and the durability is greatly improved. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
