abstract PURPOSE:To remove stuck foreign matters and plated residue, etc., to make a clean surface and to obtain a high-accuracy rectangular wire by making a metallic bus pass an alcohol impregnated wiping tool before the metallic bus enters a rolling roll. CONSTITUTION:The metallic bus 1 is delivered from a delivery device 2. In the alcohol wiping tool 10, alcohol is impregnated in absorber such as felt, etc., and a suitable amount of alcohol is supplied from an alcohol supply part 11. When the metallic bus 1 delivered from the delivery device 2 passes the alcohol-impregnated wiping tool 10, depositions such as dirts and plated residue sticking to the surface are removed and, consequently, the metallic bus is passed between the rolling rolls 5 and rolled. In this case, the alcohol coated on the alcohol impregnated wiping tool 10 is operated as lubricant for rolling. The dimension of the rectangular wire 6 obtained by rolling the metallic bus 1 is measured by a dimension measuring device 9 and the bus is coiled on a coiler 8.
