abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the filtration resistance and to filter off the suspended matter such as fatty acid esters by the hydrophobic-bond adsorption by mixing hydrophilic fiber, hydrophobic fiber and specified fine grains as a filter aid in a specified ratio. n CONSTITUTION: From 10 to 75wt.% of ≥1 kind of hydrophobic fiber among the polyolefin, polyester and acrylic fibers, 0-50wt.% of hydrophilic fiber such as natural cellulose and 25-90wt.% of fine grains such as diatomaceous earth as a filter aid are mixed, and the mixture is formed into a filter sheet. Since the sheet contains the fibers having hydrophobic-bond adsorptivity, the suspended matter consisting of fatty acid esters can be removed by the sheet. In addition, hydrophilicity is imparted to the sheet itself by the contained hydrophilic fiber, the filtration resistance of the sheet is effectively reduced. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
