| abstract | PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of smells by gaseous sulfurous acid, the staining of a photosensitive material, etc., by specifying the fixer to be supplied to a 2nd processing tank and providing a means for bringing the photosensitive material and an aq. acidic org. matter soln. into contact between the 1st and 2nd processing tanks and a means for bringing the photosensitive material and an aq. org. hardener soln. into contact between a 3rd processing tank and a drying section. n CONSTITUTION: The fixing processing liquid supplied to the 2nd processing tank 2 is the fixing processing liquid of ≥pH6 contg. thiosulfate and sulfite. The means 5 for bringing the photosensitive material and the aq. soln. of the acidic org. matter which has an acidic group and is substantially nonvolatile into contact is provided between the 1st processing tank 1 and the 2nd processing tank 2. The means 6 which brings the photosensitive material and the aq. soln. contg. the org. hardener into contact is provided between the 3rd processing tank 3 and the drying section 4.
