titleOfInvention Production of animal pearl nucleus
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title pearl nuclei having uniform particle diameters at a low cost, producing nuclei having an arbitrary size and shape which are hardly obtained with shellfishes by subjecting fluorine phlogopite glass ceramics prepared by a specific method to HIP treatment. n CONSTITUTION: A raw material powder mixture containing compounds of Si, Al, Mg, K, B and F in a ratio of 40-50wt.% calculated as oxide of SiO 2 , 10-20wt.% Al 2 O 3 , 10-20wt.% MgO, 5-15wt.% K 2 O, 0-15wt.% 0-15wt.% B 2 O 3 and 5-15wt.% F is heat-treated under a temperature condition of 1,000-1,100°C maximum temperature and crystal of fluorine phlogopite crystal is precipitated, the prepared treated material is ground into ≤5μm average particle diameter, molded into a desired shape, sintered at 1,100-1,300°C and the prepared sintered material is subjected to HIP treatment and abraded to give the pearl nuclei. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
