titleOfInvention Cold electron discharge electrode
abstract PURPOSE: To lower the discharge start voltage of an electron gun and make the life long, by constituting cold electron discharge electrodes with bases consisting of metals or an oxide, and oxide films chemically united with the above bases. n CONSTITUTION: An oxide film can be formed on a base surface by conducting the hydrothermal treatment or hydrothermal-electrochemical treatment of the base in a solution containing a leader body element constituting an oxide film. In the case of the hydrothermal treatment, a solution containing alkaline earth metals and a base consisting of a high melting point metal such as titanium, tungsten, molybdenum, are put into a reaction container such as an autoclave, and heating is conducted, for example, at 100-200°C, and the execution is done under saturated vapor pressure. Also, in the case of hydrothermal-electrochemical treatment, a solution containing alkaline earth metals and an operation electrode consisting of a high melting point metal base such as titanium, tungsten, molybdenum and an opposition electrode consisting of, for example, platinum, are put into a reaction container such as an autoclave, and heating is conducted, for example, at 100-200°C, and electrification between electrodes is made, and the execution is done under saturated vapor pressure. As for a base, an oxide such as titanium oxide can be used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
