abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a final molding in such a state that a high MW is kept by bonding particles composed of an ultrahigh MW polyethylene resin by the deformation of the particles and the melting only of the surfaces of the particles to gather and integrate them. CONSTITUTION:An ultrahigh MW polyethylene resin with an MW of 1000000 or more showing a value of 6.5d/g or more in intrinsic viscosity measured in a decalin solvent at 135 deg.C is supplied in a powder state with a mean particle size of about 2-400mum and shaped into a final molding by powder sintering without being passed through a molten state.
