| abstract |
PURPOSE: To provide a method for cleaning a porous electrically conductive filter, in which the filter is washed while minimizing the corrosion of a counter electrode and filtering of a large amount of filtering liquid is possible. n CONSTITUTION: This cleaning method is to clean a porous electrically conductive filter during filtering an aqueous filtering liquid. The method comprises arranging and contacting a counter electrode and the filtering liquid with each other so that the filter, filtering liquid and counter electrode compose an electrolytic cell together, and periodically applying a potential difference between the filter and the counter electrode so as to generate a gaseous product by electrolysis at the filter and to clean the filter.
