PURPOSE: To provide an ultrahigh efficiency alkylene oxide catalyst having enhanced stability. n CONSTITUTION: A catalyst for the manufacture of alkylene oxide by the epoxidation of alkene in the vapor phase in tire presence of at least one kind of efficiency-enhancing gaseous member of a redox-half reaction pair is characterized by comprising a silver impregnated support containing an efficiency- enhancing amount of at least one kind of efficiency-enhancing salt of a member of a redox-half reaction pair and a sufficient amount of stability-enhancing component to give the enhanced catalyst stability as compared to a similar catalyst which does not contain the stability-enhancing component. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO |
