abstract (57) [Summary] [Structure] In the production of a dispersant for a gypsum-water slurry comprising a water-soluble salt of a naphthalene sulfonic acid formaldehyde condensate, at the time of condensation of naphthalene sulfonic acid and formaldehyde, unreacted naphthalene in the naphthalene sulfonic acid is removed. A method for producing a dispersant for a gypsum-water slurry, which comprises adding water for condensation to a sulfonated product such that the content of water is 3.5% by weight or less with respect to the total water content of the condensation reaction system, and causing the condensation reaction. [Effect] Since the dispersant obtained by the method for producing a gypsum-water slurry dispersant of the present invention exhibits excellent dispersibility, Drying at the time of manufacturing the gypsum board will be quicker and the productivity can be improved.
