(57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a method for producing an exhaust gas purifying catalyst in which the amount of a catalyst component carried on a carrier is increased. [Structure] When γ-alumina having a high specific surface area is supported on a carrier, an inorganic binder such as hydrated alumina or zeolite is interspersed in a fine powder state to form a slurry, which is wash-coated. In this case, firing based on high dispersion and low temperature reactivity of the intervening inorganic binder By improving the solidification property, it becomes possible to surely support the required amount of γ-alumina on the carrier even though the inorganic binder is present in a relatively small amount. |
