(57) [Summary] [Objective] Using a catalyst having high activity and selectivity for oxidative coupling of methane and having a sufficiently improved life, methane is contacted with the catalyst in the presence of oxygen to obtain ethylene. Provided is a method for efficiently producing a hydrocarbon having 2 or more carbon atoms such as ethane and ethane. [Structure] When methane is contacted with a catalyst in the presence of oxygen to produce a hydrocarbon having 2 or more carbon atoms, a catalyst obtained by supporting lithium oxide and tin oxide on a calcium oxide carrier is used as the catalyst. Produces hydrocarbons. |
