abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] The objective is to efficiently remove the deposits on the inner surface of the mold of a continuous casting machine with an inexpensive device. [PROBLEMS] A mold inner surface adhered matter removing device having a groove formed around a head end portion of a dummy bar in a continuous casting machine, and a sealing material abutting against the inner surface of the mold is inserted into the groove and the dummy bar is inserted into the mold. When the sealing material in close contact with the inner surface reaches the upper edge of the mold, the short side mold plates are brought close to each other or the long side mold plates are simultaneously approached to press the sealing material, and then the dummy bar is gradually lowered. Remove the deposits on the upper part of the mold, and at the same time make the tip of the dummy bar reach a predetermined position that constitutes the pool part of the mold, and then inject the molten metal into the pool part to cast a slab. Adhesion removal method that lowers the dummy bar to pull out the slab and remove the adhesion on the lower part of the inner surface of the mold.
