[Structure] A protective film is formed on the alignment film, and columnar spacers are formed on the protective film. According to the present invention, it is possible to define the gap between the substrates with high accuracy, and it is possible to prevent deterioration of the alignment film when forming the columnar spacer by using the protective film.
